The Beginning of an Era

By: Hanna Kisvarday

We recognized that Rex Dacoco is just one of the outstanding freshman here at San Tan Foothills. With just three words, Rex describes himself as outgoing, funny, and hardworking which are all the perfect qualities of an excelling student. Rex puts all these qualities to the test through his accomplishments. He tells us of his greatest achievement was, “Winning 1st place in a science

competition for the first time. ”Before growing up to win 1st

place in a competition, Rex dreamed of becoming a

professional wrestler when he was little. Surely, he has

a lot ahead of him in the future, whether it be working

a lab or in a ring. When he’s not doing all of this, he thinks

about what he would do on his perfect day. He says it would involve,

“Going to an amusement park with my friends and just going

to all the rides and eating food. On his perfect day he also

might listen to his favorite band, Twenty One Pilots.

In response to the question of why he thought he was

chosen as Freshman Student of the Quarter he said,

“Well, this is a surprise because I’ve only been in San Tan about

two months and I’m already student of the quarter, but I think

I was chosen because I always try to do my best and work hard

in everything that I do.” Rex continues, “I am also really friendly

with everyone and always try to remain positive with everything.” For the short amount of time Rex has been at San Tan he has contributed a tremendous amount into making this school a better place just by being himself.

In the end, Rex told us how he wants to be remembered. He says, “I would want to be remembered as an overall good person because I don’t really need a gold medal to define me, just knowing that people liked me.” Thank you Rex, for letting us get to know you. We’ve learned a lot about you, including that you’ll go many places and achieve so much.
