Hungry For the Title

One thing that hasn't gone unnoticed on this campus is the Sabercat Football team.  Approaching the halfway mark of the season with a winning record, I'm sure the campus is wondering the reason behind all of this. I met up with Coach Ritchie Martin to get some answers and he was enthusiastic about the future of this program.

When asked what he was most excited about the rest of this year, he said, “I am excited for our future! Each week we get better and stronger and with that comes confidence. We hope to win our league and reach the playoffs.”

When Coach Martin was asked about the reasoning behind the changes within the program, he stated, “The change comes from our coaching staff. We are confident with helping kids reach their goals and we have all done this before. I also think our passion for the game rubs off on others!”

With how much success Coach Martin and his staff has brought to the Sabercat football team, one can only think that he could have done it anywhere.  So my question that arose was, “Why San Tan Foothills?”  When I asked Coach about this he replied, “I chose San Tan because I believe in the kids! My background as a kid was similar to all the kids at our school. If I can do it anyone can! This has been my motto since I graduated college and hope to show others how I did it.”

The Sabercat football team is looking to continue their season with great success behind head coach Ritchie Martin and to keep playoff berth in sight. Don't be surprised if Coach Martin takes the Sabercat Football team all the way to the top!
