With the season almost halfway over of his senior year, he can’t help but to try and make memories with his teammates and coaching staff, as someone's senior year of high school athletics in some cases could very well be their last. Danny had to say, “My most memorable moment so far this season is the San Manuel game, I've never started a season opener. Definitely something I won't forget.”
As some of us know, football is not only a sport that requires physical strength and athletic ability, it also requires discipline and knowledge of what's going on in the game. I asked Danny what goes through his head before the snap of each play and he replied, “A lot of things, knowing what I'm going to do with the ball. Where I'm going to throw it, who's open, but I always try to be the most calm on the field.” Being calm seemed to be very important to him, as he expressed that without being calm you are sure to fold under pressure.
With how the season has gone so far, Danny Herrera expects the last half to be even greater with the Sabercat football team getting better and better every day. Danny stated, “I know how good we are. I know what we are capable of doing, so I do expect a lot for the rest of this season. Hopefully a state title for the first time in San Tan.”
With half of his senior season still to come, and already passing for over 1000 yards, I’m sure we are going to see a lot more out of San Tan Foothills quarterback, Danny Herrera. Expectations are high for Danny, but he plans to stay calm and humble throughout it all and bring a title to the Sabercats this year.
One student on this campus in particular has been excelling in athletics on a national level. The Quarterback for your Sabercat football team, Danny Herrera, has been ranked within the top 5 Quarterbacks in the nation when it comes to passing yards, even taking the number one spot for a couple of weeks. Surprisingly humbled by his accomplishments, Danny gave a lot of the credit for his success to his teammates, stating, “It's not all just me. I just give the ball to my teammates and let them make plays, they trust me to do my job and I trust them to do theirs.”
