Sabercat Stars

What is the ideal day for a star student of the quarter you ask? Well, sophomore
student of the quarter, Skyler Schwanbeck, says he starts off his perfect day with the
weather being partly cloudy, with the sun barely covered to avoid the Arizona heat.                                                                               He goes home relaxed and homeworkfree, with his day
consisting of no tests and simple classwork. As a little kid,
he envisioned himself as the president because, “I liked
the idea of leading people in the right direction.” While
little Skyler pictured himself living in the white house he
also watched his favorite childhood show, “Courage the
Cowardly Dog.” Three words he uses to describe himself
are independent, social, and hardworking. While he is all
these things and more, Skyler says he is no saint either.
He describes his adrenaline-rushed, blood pumping, and
rebellious act of...sneaking into a movie theatre. Skyler
says, “I did not get caught and just ate skittles watching
the movie, which I do not remember the name of. It is
easier, however, just to buy popcorn from the theater
instead of sneaking in food so I would not recommend sneaking in food.” Besides
sneaking into movie theatres, Skyler’s greatest accomplishment was joining FBLA
during his freshman year. He goes into depth and tells us, “My freshman year, I joined
the organization FBLA which is Future Business Leaders of America and got the chance
to compete at state. With my partner Nicolas Zurita, we made it to nationals in Global
Business by placing second in state. The experience was very exciting because we got
to stay in a hotel on both occasions and even got to travel to Georgia for Nationals.”
All in all, Skyler wants to be remembered for being someone who made a
difference or for being loyal to the people around him. Getting to know our student of the
quarter spreads uniqueness and spirit throughout our school. Truly, Skyler has
contributed to making San Tan Foothills high, “A place for greatness.”
