FLEX stands for Fall Leadership Extravaganza. This years 2016 FLEX conference brought together FCCLA, FBLA, and HOSA to foster leadership skills and to build character. FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. They strive to help individuals in public and private schools and contribute to family bonds, careers, and participation in the community. FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America and it is a professional student organization that is available in a majority of schools across America. HOSA represents the Health Occupations of America and it is a national career and technical student organization. It is also endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education of the Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE.
In this years FLEX conference, there were workshops based on careers, competitions, and career opportunities. With that was also an amazing opening session with a wonderful guest speaker! The keynote speaker who spoke during the opening session, Broker Lee, is a peak performance expert, author, and internationally acclaimed performer. Broker Lee accomplished his goals of the impossible. He told people that, “You can do the impossible as long as you commit.” After the opening session were exciting workshops like Dead Men Do Tell Tales for HOSA, FBLA Career Panel-Entrepreneurship, and Leading With Your Own Rhythm FCCLA.
If you are wondering how you can join any of these magnificent organizations or learn how to go to any of these conferences, talk to Tom Pruitt for HOSA and Joseph Galish for FBLA. The kids who went had breathtaking experiences and got a lead in their path of life. Students who go to these events tend to have a lot more leadership tools to better them in their future career path.
