Students of the Quarter

Bryant Lopez

Daniela Flores

Daniela Flores is much more than just an average Sophomore here at San Tan Foothills. She is truly going places after high school, but her achievements all started here. Our Journalism Team got the amazing chance to get to know Daniela and be able to give her the recognition she deserves for being an amazing student. Three words that Daniel chose to capture herself are outgoing, fun, and helpful. She is all these words and more! One thing you probably didn’t know about Daniela are the things she is proud of. She explained to us a little more about her proudest accomplishment when she said, “My proudest accomplishment is being able to have come this far in school and that next year has many positive things coming for me next year.” I think like the most of us, Daniela is dreaming of the day the next school year begins. When asked why she thinks she was chosen as Student of the Quarter she was honest when she said, “I think I was chosen this quarter for maybe being a good role model this year if I really don't know.” Congrats Daniela!

To leave us with something to hold onto, she told us some of the ways she is going to try and contribute in making San Tan Foothills a, “Place for Greatness.” Daniela stated, “I think the thing that can help the most is always being a great stuco member and always listening to the students around the campus.” Always remember that small things we do as students can make a big impact on our school Sabercats!

Speaking of excelling Sophomores, Bryant Lopez stands as another example of why our school shouldn’t underestimate underclassmen. Bryant is a student who can balance being an athlete while still staying on track with his studies. Using only three words, he describes himself as intelligent, athletic, and kind hearted. All of these words truly capture who Bryant is as an outstanding student athlete. When he was younger, he said he wanted to be to an outstanding baseball player just like his dad was before him. He told us, “I wanted to be this because that's all that I saw when I was a kid and I wanted live up to his greatness.” Having a parent to follow in the the footsteps of is a good way to get inspiration for the future. A band that we found out he admires is Led Zepplin because he says they sound amazing. He also went on to say that his favorite song by them is, “Stairway to Heaven.” Getting some background on what our Student of the Quarters are inspired by and what they do outside of school is a good way to learn more about your peers that you are surrounded by everyday.

All in all, Bryant was chosen as Student of the Quarter for a reason, but when we asked him why he thought he was picked he said, “I think I was chosen as the Student of the Quarter because I have kept my grades intact and because I am a great example of a student athlete.” To continue excelling as a student, he told us that he will try his hardest in everything that he does, including state testing, and try to make San Tan Foothills a school that people would like to come to.
