San Tan Compares

- Caden Husar

Chances are you or someone you know didn’t always go to San Tan Foothills, but why did they change schools? What is it that draws students from other schools? After interviewing a series of students that transferred to San Tan Foothills, this  is what they believe makes San Tan Foothills better.

STFHS & Posten High School

After interviewing Mikayla Gutierrez who previously went to Poston Butte (which is located just down the road of San Tan High School) for a year states “San Tan Foothills is better because there are less students here and the teachers help”. She explains that Poston has a lot more students than San Tan does and the equipment is better there. So what makes San Tan Foothills better? Well in her opinion, it’s the students. The students at Poston were really “Stuck up” and the school didn’t care all that much about the students. What about the athletic teams/programs? She explains that San Tan has better sport teams with the exception of the soccer team.

STFHS & Florence High School

“I lIke San Tan better because I’m with everyone I know, it’s just better.” Norman Touey claims. According to him the students at Florence High School are more southern “They’re the type that drive big trucks and wear overalls to school.” He then told us “They don't actually wear overalls to school.” The teachers at Florence were really good and the work is harder than San Tan, but still easy. Norman Touey then expands by claiming that Florence has better equipment inside the building and outside, all around the equipment was better.  He later announces that the school treated their students “Pretty Good”.

STFHS & Casteel High School

Casteel High School is a new school currently being one and a half year old, which is a part of the Chandler Unified School District. According to our Caden Husar (who previously went to Casteel for a year and a half) Casteel has close to 2,000 students (just freshman and sophomores). He states that the people/students at Casteel acted better than everyone and “snobby” compared to San Tan Foothills where people tend to act more genuine and all the students here have their own personality. The teachers are about the same “I like them both, at both schools the teachers are more relaxed.” he states. He explains that the work at Casteel was harder because they expected everything to be done online and didn’t provide computers to help get online. He says Casteel was better in two ways; Athletics and Equipment. But lets hope that changes soon.

STFHS & Casteel High School

Apache Junction High School is part of the Apache Junction Unified School District. “I like San Tan better because it had a more positive influence on my life.” Ariana Cleavenger States. She says San Tan Foothills has about ¼ of the amount of students Apache Junction has. She says that’s not the only reason prefers San Tan Foothills over Apache Junction. She continues that the people at her previous school acted very selfish and had a negative influence on the people around them. She says that the teachers treated everybody with fairness but the coaches obviously had their favorites. But she affirms that San Tan has room for improvement as Apache Junction had better equipment throughout the school such as air conditioning.

Altogether, in each interview, there were consistent claims that the students that go to San Tan Foothills acted better than the students at other schools. Claims ranging from “less stuck up” to “more genuine and unique” might prove how the students at San Tan Foothills makes the school “A Place For Greatness”.
Remember these are personal opinions, just because someone states that San Tan Foothills is better than another school doesn’t make it a fact. Experiences will vary.
