Stuco Advised

- Camille McKillip

I had the pleasure of getting to interview Mrs. Jauregui, the Student Council Advisor. I asked Mrs. Jauregui questions such as: how she was placed as the Stuco advisor and what she loves about her position.

Firstly, I asked Jauregui, ”After being hired by our Principal, Dr. Richards, what do you think helped prepare you to become the student council advisor?” She replied, “Being involved in my high school. It helped prepare me for being the Stuco advisor and I love that we have many students that are dedicated to making our campus great again.” Mrs. Jauregui expressed that students help accomplish the school's main goal: to make our campus a better place. And one of several ways to do that is to spread the Sabercat Spirit student-to-student.

Just like anyone, Mrs. Jauregui loves to have fun. So, I asked her what day did she have the most fun. “Definitely the Struts concert! I went to see them in Portland during my honeymoon,” she said.

I had a great time getting to know more about Stuco and Mrs.Jauregui with her goals and motivation to encourage school spirit. Lastly, I asked Mrs.Jauregui what she wanted students to know most about Stuco and she said, “Students should know that Student Council is for everyone. Not just really smart kids or people who genuinely enjoy school. And that’s something I love about Stuco, because it consists of chess players, athletes, gamers, FBLA and SkillsUSA members, etc.” Enjoy your Fall break and let’s continue making San Tan Foothills a place for greatness!
