This years San Tan Foothills Softball Team is going to be a team to watch this year.  With their impressive playoff performance last year, you shouldn’t be expecting anything less from these girls.  Expectations for this year’s team are to make it right back to where they went last year, but to make it farther, play harder, and win more games.  Coach Barraza works on the basic essentials of the game along with getting them physically prepared for whatever could be thrown their way.  One of his main focuses on practice is situational training.  He plans on getting them ready for every possible situation in the game.  Following a lot of repetition, the softball team should know what to do in whatever situation the game may put them in.  When Coach Barraza was asked about differences between this year's team and last year’s team, the first thing he said was age and experience.  With most of the team made up of a freshman, the season also has to be a learning process for many young softball players.  Previous years teams have had older and experienced players with a lot of chemistry.  With these team being young and made almost entirely of freshman, all that leaves for them is another experienced team in the making.  Attend these exciting games and be a part of the history as a team of bonafide softball players are made right in front of you.
