It doesn’t always take courage, but rather an invaluable sacrifice to keep us protected and in peace. What I will show you today is the strength a small group of teachers that had the braveness within themselves to serve our country with passion and grace. Here are some pictures to stir your heart.

Troops to Teachers

Galish served in the U.S. Air Force as a police officer. He worked in the years of 1984-99, serving 15 years in all. He visited the states of Knob Noster in Missouri and Oklahoma, also the country of Italy’s Air Force base called Aviano. On this base he learned “broken” Italian and how to barter. As many people would, Galish made friendships that still last today, when we asked him about his friends, to which he simply responded “I love ‘em”. The Air Force shaped him to be a man of respect, accountability, and to be on-time.

Beckman served in the U.S. Navy in the years of July 2000 to November 2003, where he served in Fort Riley, Kansas. His description of being in the Army was the same as a college experience-- Parties in the frats became the same as parties in the barracks. When first arriving in the military as a newbie the sergeants would “smoke you out” in a way of working you hard within the range of building strength.

Dr. Richard’s also served in the U.S. Air Force in the years of 1995-1999, he was placed in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and Bosnia. One reason the Air Force was to his liking is because it was least militaristic. The relationships he acquired during his time in the Air Force he still holds to this day-- His best friend from this time still keeps in contact with him. He expressed that he would go back if needed to, but if he was to go back in time to the time he signed up he would become apart of the medical field of the Air Force. He says it taught him the action of self-defence.

However, with the peak into the experiences of our teachers, we owe a thanks to those who’ve served. They proved their strength and now they pass their intelligence to us. We now obtain the knowledge of the skills that are required when approaching certain military branches. We give a special thank you to everyone who is serving and who has served, you have blessed us with freedom and forever we will be grateful.
