Talent Show

-Joshua Slater-

An assortment of different talents were shown off at the STFHS Talent Show. From beatboxing to shredding on the guitar, our students were able to show their musical prowess in our school cafeteria.. Separating people by talent, I hope to regale readers with a chronicle of those who were brave enough to show what they were made of with a list of those who performed. As it is hard to translate musical prowess into anything but a synonym for “good”, you will just have to take my word that everyone in the talent show was sensational.

Vocalists

Adriana - Break Free by Ariana Grande

Faleena - Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri

Robin - An original rap

Selena - Lost Boy by Ruth B.

Amber - song with live piano accompaniment

Shay - Facedown by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Xavier - Improvisational Beatboxing

Instrumentalists

Shawn - Piano piece:

Davin - Piano piece: Crossing Fields

Benny - a medley of different metal and rock riffs

After all the solo performances, everyone played a part in singing well recognized songs in “Don’t Forget the Lyrics”. A few of the songs that everyone belted out were Party in the USA, Call Me Maybe, and Thinking Aloud. Everyone harmonized in their own unique way, and the air was electric throughout the whole cafeteria. Afterwards, two people were pit against each other in a test of acrobatics: a dance off.

There were two dance-offs:

Xavier vs. Vincent:

Both Xavier and Vincent danced valiantly. Through cartwheels and backflips, both boys pulled off feats of dexterity. Though, in the end, Vincent stood supreme. Vincent had stood on stage proudly holding himself up, met by thunderous applause.

Robin vs. Dr. Richards:

Robin rocked the house with moves to the beat of Beat It by Michael Jackson. Dr. Richards showed off some dancing to Ice, Ice Baby from Vanilla Ice.

By the end of the two, it was evident that Robin had won.

That’s everything to cover for the talent show! Whether you’re looking back on memories, or hearing about it for the first time, this should mark some of everyone’s favorite moments.
