Tristan Takai:

When we think of a star student, what comes to mind is a person who does their best no matter what the situation is. Tristan Takai is a Sophomore at San Tan Foothills who was chosen as Student of the Quarter because of this reason. One thing you probably didn’t know about him is that when he was little, his dream job was to go into space or work for NASA. To get to know him a little better, we asked him what were some of the things on his life’s to-do list and he said, “Travel, graduate high school/ graduate college, skydive, go to Japan, and help my family with money issues.” Tristan has proven to be a person who loves helping people and devoting his life to new and exciting things. In addition, he told us why he thought he was chosen as Student of the Quarter, “If I were to be chosen then it would be because of how much effort and perseverance I put into my work, how dedicated I am to graduating high school and leading a good life. Doing all the positive things in school to set a good example for the people who struggle. Being able to perform things correctly and go above and beyond with anything anyone gives me.” Tristan’s hard work and optimism will definitely lead him to victory.

To wrap it up, we ended the interview with one final question. When asked how he wanted to be remembered, Tristan strongly replied, “I want to be remembered as someone who anyone could count on because I love to help people with anything.” Thank you Tristan, for this opportunity to get to know you a little better and allow others to spread your helpfulness and devotion throughout campus!

Arian Cleavenger:

This is a time for recognition to those who truly succeed in making San Tan Foothills a place for greatness. Ariana Cleavenger is just one student on campus who is making a difference with her strong attitude and her amazing achievements.  Three words that perfectly capture her personality are bubbly, passionate, and devoted. If you know her in person, she is definitely all these amazing things and more! Some goals she would love to accomplish in her life include working as a surgeon and doing free surgery in third world countries, finding the cure for a major disease, be able to hug a koala, buy a hospital, and last but not least, change the world. With her hardworking personality and strong drive to succeed, nothing is impossible for Ariana. When Ariana isn’t changing the world she’s listening to her favorite song,  “Hallelujah” the cover by Rufus Wainwright. She gave us a little insight on why this is her favorite song, “That song just makes me so happy and calm and it gives me chills every time I listen to it. It is just so powerful and soulful.”

Her goals and likes are just some of the interesting things we got to learn about her. She also told us how she wants to be remembered, “I want to be remembered as someone who was really kind, but also extremely intelligent and driven.” In the end, what we took away from this interview is that there are many bright students on this campus who deserve recognition and Ariana is definitely one of them.
